Kindle Scribe - Page 16

Wacom made such on/off digitizers --- my NCR-3125 had one --- the "signature" pen from it would work on my Wacom ArtZ (w/o pressure), but the pressure-sensitive pen from the ArtZ would not work on the NCR.

Similarly, the FinePoint digitizer used on the Fujitsu Stylistic ST-1200 and ST-2300 as well as on the Compaq TC-1000 was on/off only.

Anyway, the units have started to show up in the wild:

They aren't enthusiastic about it!

These guys are based in my geographic area, and have a good track record for their technology comments/advice - both are former Apple Store Genius Bar dudes.

That was a really great review.

Not that I was ever considering buying a Scribe (way out of my budget), but it really did cement my view of the device. Personally, I just don't see any advantage of using the scribe over an ipad or other ereader brands (onyx boox, for one) that already specializes in note taking. Also considering how closed-off Amazon's eco system is.

I just can't justify that price tag...

An interetsting review, but not sure why they are comparing it to an iPad. Totally different device categories.

The speed looks fast and a nice display and device.
Only thing that bugs me is the bezel without buttons. I'm so used to the larger bezel on one side of the Oasis with the buttons so this is probably why.

True, and they title the video Ipad killer. Obviously that's like comparing lemons and oranges when it comes to devices.

It's only justifiable to proof PDFs.

You can't buy the Scribe without a pen, and the Scribe and reMarkable both use Wacom EMR pens.

Why waste money on another?

I’m interested to know if the shortcut button on my Lamy EMR will work the same as the one on the premium Amazon stylus.
