I have a few questions:
1) This menu starts before kernel I presume? Does that mean you can recover from bad flashes?
2) Does USB work from here? How would you upload the recovery files?
3) Can you run updates or what?
system: I S40diags:def:/mnt/base-us/ENABLE_DIAGS does not exist, forcing diagnostic disable
would be interesting to see what it does if a file namend ENABLE_DIAGS is created on the kindle
Its not just a single file. There are a bunch of extra binaries and support files for the diagnostic mode on a Kindle which normally gets erased when Amazon ship it out.
The problem is that we don't have a complete firmware image for a K3 with the necessary signatures. All of the K3 firmware updates have been patches on existing versions. The old Kindles had some very large images which were actually the entire firmware i.e. kernel and FS.
Not sure if i am in the right place, but since you guys seem to be the gurus.............what is the hidden fuse in the kindle? Pardon me if it is a no brainer, but i will be darned if i can find out what it is. thanks, all
