The ebook *is* available to all.

Kobo is selling it.

B&N's "principle" is simply that it is okay for *them* to have a publishing arm but its not okay for Amazon to have one. Just as it's okay for them to have excusives but they have a hissy fit when Amazon gets a timed exclusive.
Yup, highly principled outfit, there.

Well, Hangman's Daughter pre-dates B&N's grandstanding, last spring...
Consistency doesn't seem to be a strong point with them.

Btw, Amazon raised the hardcover price again today by $1.20 while sales ranking has fallen to #281.

Added: Kobo is still the only retailer outside Amazon that sells the title. I don't remember Diesel, BoB or Google saying they wouldn't carry Amazon's titles. Could it be a problem with Ingram CoreSource?

Maybe.
Or maybe Kobo decided that "Hey, epub fans might want to read this book! And pay for it!"

And pay for it they will but the question is how much.

Penny Marshall's title is one of those that experiences dual pricing for reasons currently unknown. Search shows $9.69 but on the purchase page $10.09 plus tax.
