Kobo Aura stopped responding (even after factory reset)

Hello all,
Suddendly my Kobo Aura stopped working: it seems that the screen doesn't update anymore.
The light button works but whatever I do, I can see only the cover and the POWER OFF text.
I already made a soft reset with no results. So, I restored the Kobo Aura to factory defaults. Nothing changed.
The image on screen it's a bit damaged (https://i.imgur.com/iJ1pZb0.jpg). Perhaps the screen is broken?
It seems that The ereader is working but the screen doesn't update (the light button works).
Before trying the screen replacement I would like to know if there is something else to try.
Thanks in advance for any suggestion.

Due to th screen being broken, my suggestion is to buy a Kobo Libra 2 to replace your broken Aura.

Hello JSWolf,
why not to buy a new screen for 30 euros?
What are the disavantages of this?
The Kobo Aura battery is still strong.
TIA

Because screen replacement on eink devices can be tricky and result in poorer contrast and/or faulty touch response.

Screen replacement can be a crap shoot. You lose, and you've spent the money and you still have to buy a new Reader.
