It got lost when Kobo didn't release new firmware for the Mini/Touch on one of the releases.

Hi guys,

Just 3 questions for developers of FW :

1- I use FW 3.3.0 and only one patch that is "night mode". It's the biggest function forgotten by official developers of Kobo (kindle and the others have this native function) ! but there is a very good patch here https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=212162 that a lot of people are using !

=> Do you think that, one day, this patch will be directly integrated in yours FW ?

2- I've seen that now there is a new fun add-on that brings multitouch on ours devices (link is here for details : http://www.preining.info/blog/2014/0...een/#more-2378 ).

=> Do you think that, in future, we will have to uninstall this multitouch patch before upgrade to FW 3.4.0 (and 3.5.0, 4.0.0, etc) or will they be compatible with this patch?

=> If we load this patch that modifies the linux kernel of the kobo, what will become after if we do a reset of the device :

- the modification will be kept ? yes or no ?

- the kobo won't restart because this patch is intended / not compatible with the original FW ?

NB : one more time, sorry for my bad english, it's not easy to explain thoose technicals requests (I'm french, and french people are well known to talk only french !).

One question
I just upgrade to 3.3.0 with my Kobo Touch and nothing Works anymore: pbchess menú, Koreader. I installed Fmon but no go.
I install versión 3.3.0 patched
Can you confirm that nothing Works actually with 3.3.0? or there is a trick?

I've seen problems in the past (in this forum) if your previous version contained non-Kobo patches from this forum.

You may have to remove the patches before upgrading to 3.3.0.

Currently my Mini is on FW 3.0.1. About to boldly go to 3.3.0.

Should I use just the .tgz file, or should I also include the md5sum file as well?

You should use the complete package; the tgz, the md5sum and the upgrade directory as well. Just unzip the download package to the .kobo directory.

I have no good reason to do this upgrade
other than to see if it works ...

Note: I do not sync to kobo
Update of firmware was manual
I only have sideloaded ebooks (epub and kepub)

On first test all seems to work fine

There were 2 changes in my Kobo eReader.conf file settings ...

FullBookPageNumbers=false

(required change back to true)

and a missing line ...

ShowHeaderFooter=true

(needed to be re-entered)

on superficial testing all looks -AOK
