Roughly my experience as well. If you have actual support instances, or are willing to pay for an ad hoc one, you get someone who either knows what they're doing or will escalate to someone who does. 24/7, 365. (Well, OK, there might be a bit of a wait from 25 December through to 1 January.)


I don't claim to be a Word expert either, but I used it as my main tool for 20+ years and more than once had to show my editor how to fix something. As for the online forums? It's a crapshoot. If you get an MVP who is interested, you'll get a good answer. If not, well...

You're already using Word. Time to switch to OneDrive for Business, Hitch. Really.

You're probably right, Charlie. I really am fed up with Dropbox's s**t. Every time I have had to upgrade a drive (from whatever to SSHD, from this size SSHD to a bigger one, to a bigger one, etc.) it's been a damned nightmare and EVERY instruction they've provided has been wrong. Last time I migrated (we're talking terabytes here now), OMG, it took WEEKS to synch. WEEKS.

Hobble out to the street and ... I see him head on by. Luckily I wave my arms, he sees me and stops just a twenty feet away.

Get to the office and... Vehicles are badly snowed in. Work with colleagues and get a few vehicles out I grabbed a 4wd Ford Transit mini bus and it was great. Luckily one client trip I was dreading got cancelled; one of the technicians he was meant to see couldn't make it in. (He's a visually impaired client going to a heart specialist in the other end of the city, with limited parking at the best of times, and I knew I'd have to escort him to and from the appointment).

I must have passed 30 city buses stranded by the side of the road; encased by piles of snow piled up by plows.

End of day, I've grabbed a minivan and brought it home. If I feel upto it I will call the Automobile Association tonight and see if they can figure out the issue.

Well.. Had a call this morning; towtruck driver couldn't find address! Neither me nor my wife was home (I had clients with me; she's back to volunteering at a vaccine clinic 4 days a week) so I have to call back when there is someone home.

Then the minivan I was driving, the master door lock open switch failed, so had to unlock each door manually (I had no idea where the buttons were on the rear doors but found them), so took that vehicle to the mechanic we use. Luckily there was another of our vehicles there which had it's battery fail last week, so I changed vehicles and kept going.

Very early this morning my husband had the contents of his work locker stolen, including his wallet, keys and pants, fortunately he kept his cell phone with him so was able to call for a ride home and since I have keys, get the car home as well.

It turns out he had all his ID and financial cards in his wallet so we're looking at quite a bit of trouble. I'm kicking myself for never discussing why I don't carry certain essential bits of ID with me. Urrrrgh

It turns out my husband's birth certificate was not in his wallet......because he lost it some time ago.

He has notified security at work and canceled some of his cards. I found and gave him a list of what to do and who to contact and reminded him to make a police report but I don't know if he's done it yet. He was back on a ten hour shift ending in the wee hours of the morning after several days off so he's not operating at full compacity.

I'll have ask if his credit alert service covers identity protection.

I'm stuck on the fact that he didn't do anything about it when he realized he couldn't find it.

The police report has now been filed and more cards have been canceled. Currently he's in voice mail hell trying to deal with his Mastercard. Correction, he ragequit after one too many peppy songs and has moved to dealing with another concern (it's a good thing that credit card has a low limit). He's just been told to expect an hour hold....

Amazon orders have generally worked out well for me. But not this time. Yesterday I saw that they had Fire Tablets 50% off. Didn't really need one, but it seemed a good time to upgrade my previous gen hd 8 tablet. So I did the trade in, then ordered blue HD 8 tablet and case. They changed trade ins. Before you got 20% off and $25 for a good device right away. But not now, they have to receive the device first. No big deal, the device was already seriously marked down and I would just use the gift card $25 for something else. But today my new tablet says delivery date of March 10th. Seriously. Yet it still shows the device in stock on the web site. I call Amazon and they have zero Fire hd 8 tablets in stock in any color. Nor do they have the hd 8 plus, as I was willing to get it instead. Luckily they had not received my tablet trade in yet, and I cancelled it. Hopefully it won't take forever to get it back The blue Fire Tablet hd 8 still says in stock as I write this.

Hopefully others will realize these fire tablets that are priced so well right now are not going to get to them for 2 months or longer.

Still dealing with my lower back issue. On Tuesday I had muscle cramps. Yesterday the SI joint itself was frozen and my hip decided to join in with the fun. My doctor said to keep the area warm, and to help with that when working in the store I order a rechargeable heating pillow on Tuesday.

It was shipped the same day and DHL was supposed to deliver it yesterday, but didn’t. At 11.30am I got an email telling me it was out for delivery, ten minutes later I got an email telling me it was delivered. It wasn’t. Usually it shows up later in the day, but that didn’t happen either.

It’ll most likely show up today, but I’m not happy. As soon as DHL customer service opens I’ll call them to complain.

Not sure where you are, but it looks like Best Buy has them at a similar price, and there is a blurb about trade ins.
