No connection to device Trekstor eBook Reader 4ink
Hi - I just bought a new TrekStor eBook Reader 4ink and just wanted to start right away with setting up my eBook library with Calibre, whose advanced features I appreciate very much, on my iMac (OS X 10.6.8).
- The device appears as volume "eReader" on my desktop. - Calibre (latest version 0.8.69) setup wizard offers no TrekStor device, so I've chosen Generic eInk Device - No Device button appeared. Before following Kovids Instructions, I checked the plugin list - there IS a green Trekstor E-book player device interface (1.0.0) by Kovid Goyal - but Calibre doesn't find my device nonetheless... I went to Prefs / Miscellaneous and pressed Get information to setup the user defined device and followed the procedure, recieving output: Code:
USB Vendor ID (in hex): 0x0x1e68L USB Product ID (in hex): 0x0x5cL USB Revision ID (in hex): 0x0x100L ...to no avail. I ran the debug device detection feature, but when after about half an hour it didn't produce any output, I canceled the process. So far I can export eBooks to the Reader using the "save to disk" feature (which is really helpful), but I'd appreaciate the possibility to "device-connect" to my Reader. Is it just, that it is a new device (Firmware displayed in the devices Prefs dialogue is EBR40-WB-1.0.42) or is there anything I could do better? Thanx for any help in advance = Professor Hora Last edited by Professor_Hora; 09-17-2012 at 02:55 PM. |

Go to preferences->miscellaneous->install command line tools.
Then in terminal.app run calibre-debug -d and post the output (once with your device connected, once without) |

Trekstor eBook Reader 4.0 crashes
Hi
My new Trekstor eBook Reader4.0 which is the 2GB Version of the Pyrus crashes, when i load books via Calibre to it. It works splendid when I copy files or directorys manually or via the adobe tool. When I copy the files with calibre it starts fine the first time, but when switched of an on again, it just shows weird signs and it is very hard to reset it. Is this a problem with a configuration file transferred? Is this a generall problem, or a problem with just this device. The upgrad to .70 didn´t help Thanks for any help |
