Metadata without calibre

Hi,

On some occasion, when I'm not home, I want to look at some data of my calibre library, but I can't install calibre on the computer I'm using. Or I only have my android phone with me (no computer).

Is there a way to view the content of metadata.db without calibre?

P.S. I'm a programmer, so if the only solution involve creating a new software, maybe I will start it if I have the minimum info to read the file.

Thanks.

The database is an SQL database, so you can open it with various SQL viewers. Be aware, though, that this may well nuke your library if you step wrong.

You can always run the calibre content server and use this to view the metadata. Then the only thing you need at the remote end is a browser. The only difficult part of getting that working is configuring the inbound ports on your home router to allow access from the public internet.

Ah, thanks! I will mostly work on a copy of the database downloaded from Dropbox.
