An unwanted update to this thread: My mom has had pain in her mouth since her cancer treatment. she thought maybe it was an infection. It wasn't. The cancer left her lung but went to her brain. It's in multiple places I gather. With treatment they give her 4-6 months to live. :'(

It does indeed. Mom is only 74, which now days isn't that old.

Thank you cromag, issybird, drjd. Mom had her 1st treatment out of 10 today. Tues-Friday this week, Mon-Fri next and then the Monday after. Even then we don't know how much time the treatment will give her. My pastor's mil had a son with brain cancer and he had radiation treatment. He lived another 27 yrs after. I don't know if mom will have anywhere near that long but every day is precious.

This week has been a week from hell around here. Monday was the last of mom's radiation treatments. Monday evening I ended up at the E.R. due to illness. My blood sugar had been out of wack and I had nausea. Then I no sooner get home than I have to call the ambulance for mom. She apparently caught whatever I had and was suffering from a headache and trouble breathing. She got home around 1:30 am on Tuesday. I think I've slept more the last few days than I have in months trying to build up energy. Poor mom has had to fend for herself as I was too sick to do much. We do both seem to be on the mend now but it's been a rough week.
