I have about 850 on my KK. No trouble with switching between books. I read fast so it never takes me more than a day or two for a book so why switch unless the book is bad and then I just quit that book.

But switching books? Rarely. There are very few books I've bought that I couldn't get through to the end. What I start I finish and its easier to finish if you just keep on going. (Of course, nobody says you have to read every last word in the gratuitous sex scenes, for example. Skipping the florid description of the landscape and the forest's ecology is also a valid reading technique. ) |

Here! Here! I have over 2,000 ebooks on my nook touch, but I'm currently in the process of cleaning up and managing calibre, so I plan to have better consistency when I transfer whatever I want over to my nook and/or Kindle. Don |

I have about 500 on my KK, mainly because of all the freebies I "buy" which get automatically downloaded. There are a little over a hundred paid-for books.
On my Kobo there are maybe 60. Since the wifi has never worked, and I have to maintain the library manually, it doesn't tend to run away so much. |

I have about five ebooks on mine right now ... and I'm overdue for a cleanup and feeling a bit cluttered to tell the truth.

I did try to manage the number of books on my Kindle, really. But this year the number has gone up; I'm now over 230. However, I keep a "To Be Read" collection to manage my reading.
I mainly read a book through before moving on, except for those times the book is absolute junk. Sometimes, I have two or three going at the same time. I'm not tempted to give up a book because I have all the others on my Kindle. I do like having a small library with me at all times as it makes choosing the next book easier. |

Same here, I keep about 15 books in my iPad. But these days I prefer reading news instead of books, because I recently discovered Pulse

I have a 32GB iPad 3 as my main reader, so I have tons of space. Right now I have my entire TBR list which numbers around 100 books.

I've kept a few hundred on each of my Kindles, but with my new Kindle I've decided I'm just going to keep about a dozen. I'll load books onto it from Calibre as necessary.

I have over 10,000 on my Nook Touch, but I've been thinking of splitting my Calibre database into two, "stuff I paid for or freebies that I really want to read" and "freebies I'm probably never going to read". I really wish that the Nook Touch had a shelving system that is usable when you have more than 100-200 books.

I'm getting to the point where I have to sort into separate libraries. I have Gutenberg Downloads, Sample books, Kindle freebies, Smashwords Freebies all lumped in the same library, but batch tagged for easy reference.

I need a full library of at least 500 books (many of them compilations of works of older authors). That way I can zap through my current readings at ease. I also got a fair share of poetry books and that doesn't need focused reading of linear chapter progress...

I have a little over 2000 on my Nook Color. I like to have them all there because I never know what I want to read next and I like to read books over and over.

I've got 4 or 500 on an SD card in my PB360. As I pick up more ebooks, that will continue to increase. Switching is really not a matter of temptation -- I'll read a book until it's finished. Not to say I don't switch books, but it's location based. At any given time I've got a couple of dead trees going and one ebook. What I'm reading depends on where I am.
