You've given one story URL without any indication of how it changed.
All I can do with that is confirm that trying it twice finds the existing book--which I have; including with a virtual library selected that doesn't show that book. Personally, I use FFF's log page feature and record the story URL as well as title, author, etc. Perhaps I should make that the default. Or is there a history somewhere on SB I don't know about? |

Thinking about it more, the error might be related to why you added the new code for SB/SV/QQ in the first place. I think what might be happening is that whenever an author changed either the story's title or their name, the previous version of FFF I had added a second copy of the story even though there was already an old copy of the story downloaded. So now there's two or more downloaded stories with the same thread id number from the same website. Then, I upgraded FFF's version with the new code and it sees multiple stories with the same thread id number already existing due to the previous version of FFF and throws that error. Hence why it seemed random to me why some stories threw an error and some didn't. Sometimes the change in title or name was small enough I missed that there was even a change or the title or name changed entirely and I don't notice that there are two copies of the same stories going by different titles or having different author names. So in conclusion, maybe there's nothing wrong with the current version of FFF and it'll all work out once I clear all duplicate downloaded stories caused by the previous version of FFF. |

That sounds very plausible.
Keep an eye on it, and save both story URLs if you see it happen again. |

While updating my fanfictions I'm getting an unknown error for a few of them:
Code:
bad escape (end of pattern) at position 4 I've been heavily playing with my personal.ini lately, but since the error only appears half consistently, I don't think it's the problem? (By half consistently, I mean that as far as I can see, 4 of my stories always have an error when I try to update, but around 15 others have brought it up once on the 3 times I tried to update them) Last edited by Clem2605; 09-08-2024 at 04:24 PM. Maybe it's a regexp issue? Run in debug mode, try again, view the log. Post the debug log here if you need help reading it. |

Turns out that, if you forget to escape the '\' in the output, everything breaks... (in my defense, it is rather hard to read bug reports when the position is also initialized after every '=>') Thank you! |

Thank you; that works. Add to the wiki?

Would it be possible to add the release date of a chapter to the chapter title/bookmark?

I presume I can add it to chapter_title_def_pattern in my personal.ini, but don't know the right variable name (or if the variable even exists)...

There are only a few sites that have dates on chapters FFF can read. Notably, AO3 and Xenforo forum sites (SB/SV).
Search in defaults.ini for tocpage_entry to see which sites support what additional data items. It's been a while since it was last discussed. |

Out of curiosity, when updating multiple fics, does FFF do any prioritization, or do them in the same order as listed?

The job got stuck and in the log I found an exception. I made an issue on the github repo: https://github.com/JimmXinu/FanFicFare/issues/1105

When getting URLs from emails, a set() is used to remove duplicates. I believe Python's set() returns them in an 'undefined' order. When giving a list of URLs, I believe the order is used. In all cases, when it gets to the background job, a parallel job is launched for each different site in the list so stories from different sites can download simultaneously. |

Hi!, I'm encountering some trouble with xenforo and tags.
This is the normal code that I had have for some time: Quote:
the title and "fandom"column are as follow: Title: Magical Espionage Action Fandom: Harry Potter, Metal Gear, Metal Gear Solid, Wizarding World wanting to clean the "fandom" column I added the following to the bottom of the previous code Quote:
Title: Magical Espionage Action (HP/Metal Gear Solid) Fandom: HP, Magical Espionage Action (HP/Metal Gear Solid), Magical Espionage Action (HP/Metal Gear Solid)), Metal Gear, Metal Gear Solid the same thing happened when downloading other stories that I tried to clean for example a story from QQ (NSFW link removed--JimmXinu as mod) was changed to:[NSFW]Tech is harder than diamonds (SU) and the fandom was:[NSFW]Tech is harder than diamonds (SU) (yes the same as the title) So either I'm doing something wrong, or there is a bug in the code. Hope someone can help me and thanks! Edit: I realized that just having "add_to_replace_metadata:" even without anything under it (I noticed because I forgot to comment it) causes this except nothing gets replaced, which is to be expected seeing as no replacement tags were indicated.
