The screen resolutions are very good. The 7 inch one is rather unique at 1440x900, better than anything else out there on 7". I look forward to checking them out.

It looks good and I have been thinking of getting a new reader. If this is as good as suggested, it goes to the top of my list.

Very impressive stuff - It appears Nook may end up winning the 2012 tablet sweepstakes.

Hardware: very impressive.
Final product: less so. Still under B&N app lockdown. I'd rather pay a bit more to be able to sideload my choice of apps. Like competig reader apps, for starters. (Also, proprietary connector and charger instead of micro-USB? Who do they think they are? Apple? ) |

The screen specs are drool worthy. My hope is that this spurs other tablet makers into uping their game. Nexus 10 with 1920x1280, yes please. |

It's all about the content. I just received my Kindle Fire HD yesterday and I'm very impressed by what amazon put out, the screen is fantastic and the speakers and sound blow away any tablet I have owned and I have owned many. It's so nice to hear it clearly without Headphones. I really leaning toward getting the 64gb 8.9 incher now, the Nook looks nice but B&N cannot compete against Amazon's ecosystem.

Interesting and I do love the screen specs. But I'm not buying because it is Locked to B&N the same as I'm not buying a Kindle for the same reason. I'll stick to the Nexus 7 and have the ability to get my content from anyone with out having to root it.

They lost me at "proprietary connector."
The 1:5 aspect ratio is interesting, though, as it is kind of a straddle between 4:3 for reading and 16:9 for video. Edit: Sorry, it's a 3:2 aspect ratio. Last edited by JAcheson; 09-26-2012 at 12:15 PM. |
