They'll never be able to do anything with the copy that's for a Fire. If they ever download it with an older Kindle for Mac, then they'll be able to remove the DRM and use "From KFX" or KindleUnpack as needed.

I've just purchased a new Kindle book and downloaded it from my content (as an AWZ3). I have 2 of the suggested plug-ins on my latest version of Calibre.
Why won't it remove the DRM? I'm sure I'm doing something wrong.... Calibre: 7.18 DeDRM 10.0.9 |

Did you enter the serial number of your eink Kindle in the plugin settings?

But a Fire is NOT a Kindle and unfortunately there lies your problem.

If you have no eink Kindle, then you'll have to use Method 2 in the first post. Method 1 doesn't work with a Fire. |

Kindle for Mac version 7.x will NOT work. You need Kindle for Mac 1.40.1. (See Method 2 in the first post.)
Kindle Fire will NOT work. If you're using Download and Transfer via USB you need an eink Kindle. |
