But end of the day who really cares? If you have an iPad and it works, who cares about the next one coming out, especially if it doesn't do anything different or has new features you miss on your current one. The desire to constantly upgrade is one that we need to get out of. Companies know people will constantly upgrade so why should they invest in developing a rock solid unit when "oh well they will buy a new one in 12 months". Gone are the days of something being built to last. |

I don't think that the veterans should scare off the new members. There are some topics that leave members with shorter fuses, and any discussion about Apple falls under that category. |

Not really. Apple spend 15 years updating the majority of their hardware every 6 months. People were appalled when they started shifting to a 9-12 months updating cycles 5 years ago. And now we're going back, people cry again? Ridiculous. Your product must have been what you needed since you bought it, otherwise you might as well wait until Apple goes bankrupt and then buy the last iPad they released - It'll never be updated, so success!

Another thing to consider is that the amount of work you can do on a tablet is limited. Unless you using it to play games, chances are the iPad3 are more than enough for everything. It doesn't make sense to cry about the iPad4 in that case, since it does every single thing your iPad3 does, exactly the same.
Until the iPad starts making coffee, you don't have a good reason to whine, unless your only reason to buy an iPad is to be cool (Or game as mentioned), and thus need the latest iPadX model because it is one number higher than iPadX-1. |
