If people behaved sensibly in stories they (the stories) would be an awful lot shorter and less interesting. You're in a creepy old house and hear noises from the cellar. Of course you're going to split up and get picked off one by one.

I remember those years. Ugh. I'm so glad my two are full grown now. Any of idiocy they get up to is on them, not me.

My daughter has two, one first and one third grade. It's going to be Karma if they put her through what she put us through. Lol.

Neither. My protagonist wouldn't last long in a "cozy" series, as I'd turn it into Jack Reacher or the Gray Man.

My protagonist would probably seek them out to see if there was something wrong and could he help. He would probably not get stabbed because the person would be so confused by the genuine concern that they would only punch him in the face. My protagonist's wife would make them regret that.

My protagonist would just ignore the whole matter and go home to eat, sleep and read a good book. Wait... what about the story? Forget it. The story would end there.

Publishing imprints are confusing. The store page says one thing, the embedded metadata says another, the copyright page says something entirely different. Also imprints of imprints of imprints. Enough to give someone a bloody migraine.

I just don't pay any attention to them and don't edit them in Calibre. Don't care enough to be bothered.
