Anyone gotten telephone links to work with Kindlegen?

I did the defacto standard of <a href="tel: 1-800-555-5555">1-800-555-5555</a> and Kindlegen told me it couldn't resolve my hyperlink destination.

I don't care that much honestly, but if there's an easy fix I'll take it.

I doubt this will matter much, but what happens if you delete the space after the colon, or replace it with a plus: <a href="tel:1-800-555-5555">1-800-555-5555</a> or <a href="tel:+1-800-555-5555">1-800-555-5555</a>? (I.e., is Kindlegen being strict about the form of tel: URLs, or is it rejecting them entirely?)
