this string is CSS property specifies the fill color... now why calibre retrive an error?
I understand your speech about various driver and e-reader... but anyway this string is property of CSS style... then why calibre retrive an error?

"why calibre does this or that?" is question for calibre sub-forum, so perhaps you could ask there.

Well, as a not-programmer, my very simple question would be, does Calibre even use WebKit? If it doesn't, there's your answer.

Any of you steely-eyed code jockeys know if Kovid uses Webkit in Calibre?

Because webkit code is not valid ePub code. Just because it works in iBooks does not make it valid code. It never will be. So no validator will say it's valid.

No webkit. Calibre uses QT.

You're welcome, but it wasn't really me. I just had a better idea of what and how to ask.

Read Kovid's posts in ==>> Epub displays normally on Mac, but in all italics on Windows?

They seem to suggest calibre uses Webkit, albeit via Qt.
