So it's dawning on me that basically I need to set a new serial number on this device and given the guy I bought it from has told me he got it from someone else who didn't know the original serial number....I might have inadvertently purchased a stolen or blacklisted kindle....I definitely don't want to steal anyone's serial number or something like that but I would like to get the thing working for the satisfaction.
I read through this thread and agree with the position in it. I don't need to be ripping anyone off, I already have my own working kindle with plenty of books to read. So I'm not sure how I'm going to figure this one out I'm clearly going to need to id the board and provide a serial number somehow...maybe someone feels like private messaging me how to get around this.... I will happily purchase another second hand legit PW1 and transfer the s/n just for the satisfaction of completing a fix on this one.....or set a random s/n and never connect it to the Internet Last edited by dom123dom; 02-16-2019 at 02:17 AM. |
