Help on Installing on Mac

Hi there -
Newbie (Anna) here.
Wondering if someone could help by explaining how to install on Mac.
I have some editing to do and can't seem to get it to install.
Thank you for any guidance you can provide.

You simply double-click the dmg file to mount the disk image and copy the Sigil.app to your Applications folder.

Exactly what have you tried and what error messages have you received? Which version of OSX are you running?

some more details would be helpful. Have you ever installed an app outside the store?
