Thumbs up cannot connect to the net either wire, wireless (no encription) or wireless(with encr)

Hi everyone

I just bought a used irex ilaid.
the problem is that no matter what ever i do i cannot connect to the net.
I tried wired, wireless(with all possible combinations of security with no success)
I have even rest my router and then I have flashed it with dd-wrt micro flash (also no success)

the test result is always unsuccessful

when i do wired connection test i see the irex ethernet connector blinks for about 1 second green light and in the middle of this second another yellow light blinks for very short time (so the wired adapter seems working)

my router is linksys WRT54G v5
my iliad product number ER0100
my software version 2.12
software build number 21201
kernel version 2.4.19-rmk7-pxa2-irex1 #21100

the problem is that it seems i couldn't install any application on the device until i get the developer pack which you will need Internet to get it (is this correct ?)

I don't need the connection that much except for being able to download the developer pack and do ssh to the device

I hope I was clear

thanks

Just a patch cable, crossover is for computer-to-computer.

updates:
I can see the iliad name(ereader) and ip address in the router DHCP table which means the device successfully regester itself with my router DHCP, However the device still tell me the network test is unsuccessful

question : have anyone succeeded in connecting the iliad to linksys WRT54G router

thanks

OK finally it worked perfectly

the trick was not to create profile and test it. just directly press on the network button for 2 seconds and it will give you the list of wireless networks choose yours and type the password and it will connect successfully also it will save your wireless settings for you.

I don't understand why when creating profiles and testing them the it will always fail while connecting directly(creating the profile on the fly) it went really smooth ???!!!!

thanks for everybody who tried to help me
