What about kual itself, it seems to be it's written in java and kindlet form, could you please tell how the creator got that to work on the firmware that has the backend removed ??

I mean
Would be a shame if kindlet is gone from kindle now, would be a great resource to study and learn java and read some books at the same time.

Booklet != Kindlet ... Which is the whole point.
For instance, the main Kindle page is a booklet, sort of hard to remove support for that.

Depends on what source you are looking at, the "active document" is indeed a Kindlet.

Compare that source with the source of the KUAL booklet, which, of course, is a booklet.

That comparison you are now looking at is the only booklet development documentation there is.
As I posted before, the booklet interface to the system is NOT Public, and is NOT Published (by Amazon, that is).

That comparison is also the "booklet development kit" you have been looking for.
That, and whatever you can determine of the Java parts of the system with your favorite Java reverse engineering tool(s).
Some of which I have posted, including builds that will run on the Kindle itself.
All of which seem to be on the list of my least useful postings.

Duh...
Kindlet jar(s) are for Kindlets.
The front page of your Kindle was working when Amazon shipped it to you, wasn't it?
In that case, you don't have to add anything of ours to make booklets work (the front page is a booklet, in fact, most of the Kindle's GUI are booklets).

PW3 5.10.2 JB+hotifx, after silent OTA update
Reinstalling either v2.7 or the patch that fixes the blank screen issue results in mrpi install screen "Deleting package" and restarting with no seeming changes (like adding a new KUAL.kual). KUAL naturally giving "Application error".

Re-install the very most recent MrPI (from NiLuJe's snapshot thread).
Try again ...
If the KUAL booklet will not install, copy and paste that portion of MrPI's log file in your next post.
Also include only the first six characters of your device's serial number.

Now install the most recent hot fix, see if that makes things work.


A G090 G1 should be supported.

Trying to install the latest hotifx (which my docs say I've already done once) returns the same error in the logs as with KUAL. All files taken from the snapshots thread. Kindletool compiled from git.

Ah yes, my bad. Tried to quickly install as an update and got an (iirc) update failure screen with an exclamation mark and ERROR 4. Will try again later with a fully charged device and report.

Installing the latest hotfix made all the other pieces fall in their places. I must've installed a different 1.15.N hotfix initially.
