I'd think the answer is 'no.'

It does to sound waves.
Light can obviously be transferred, as it's made of (rather weird) particles, but no weirder than electrons or even buckyballs (C-60). Sounds waves are pressure changes. Changes in pressure are caused by back-and-forth movement of molecules of air. If the transporter was only one way, the sounds would be weirdly distorted on the other side. |

I'm going to withdrawal the question. Further research shows that physicist don't agree on the answer. There evidently is some differences on the validity of E=mc^2 concerning the composition of sound and light.
Here's another question: You are lost in the desert. You are out of water. You can see a spring on the horizon. You run over and touch the cool water. Your mom has told you never to drink water straight out of the ground. All you have is two clean plastic cups, and no way to make a fire to sterilize the water. How do you drink the water? |

^As above. Put water I one cup and place the other cup over top. As it heats up and evaporates you can drink the condensation on the top glass.

I thought it was a while since I had seen a quiz. How about it, orlok or HIMS?
