While I understand the sentiment I feel it would be a missed opportunity for vendors to release a tablet-sized eInk reader without note-taking features, as this would alienate a fair part of the market.

While we're talking about "devices which will never see the light because the market is too small", what I really would like to see is a light, foldable, dual 6" or 7" screen reader. I enjoy reading on my Scribe for the larger screen, and particularly like the two-page mode, but I do find it a bit difficult to hold comfortably; my hands naturally want to "fold" it, either to make it easier to hold with one hand in the middle, or to better control how the light falls on it. It would also make it more portable.

Then again maybe I'm just a nostalgic old fart who misses holding a book in his hands sometimes!

I have a large collection of books. That makes us two old farts with books.

(Although I have Miss Macintosh, My Darling in ebook, I couldn't resist buying it in trade paper during my recent visit during Christmas. It's a THICK book!)
