I got the upgrade by visiting amazons software page. New features are so cool! no need to buy a new kindle scribe.

I like that there's now ability to underline highlights, as opposed of greying them out, but I can't find a way to make it default to underlining. Must I really always tap every highlight, then tap again on the new Annotation type button, then tab again on Underline style just to change greyed out highgliht style to underline, or am I missing something?

I don't see any way to configure that. Might send on-device feedback and ask for a settings option or writing toolbar sub-menu option.

If I use the pen, it defaults to underline

I took the update and i love it. you can underline as well as highlight.

take the pen and cross threw the words after you highlight and it auto-underlines. you can not highlight and underline at the same time yet

Ah, it appears that there's a difference in how it's handled depending on the pen style mode. With the highlighter mode you can start a highlight, then just continue to draw a line down over several lines and then a tail across the last part that you want. It will create a highlight on all of the text from start to end that you can then turn into an underline style. With the pen mode you can draw through words on a single line, but I don't see that it can do more than a just that line at a time without activating Active Canvas and make the strokes a drawing instead of a highlight.

I see that now. It's severely limited, though. It's only working with a pen, you need to have pen tool selected, it's only working on a single line, and it's super easy to cross the words instead of underlining them, and that creates an unnecessary canvas template that you must then delete. I'm really disappointed in how this is implemented.

I did manage to highlight and underline a section at the same time, though. First you highlight, then you use pen with a pen tip selected, and you underline highlighted text.

If you use pen to underline, it will underline by default.

Hopefully the Kindle apps (and Kindles still getting updates) will have underline highlighting at some point. It would be nice if it were an option for print replica format as well.

As per a new notice on Amazon's Scribe product page.

Hopefully it will be pretty early as just received my replacement Scribe and like the first one, its white surround takes on various different shades, depending on the lighting in the room you're in.

One thing to be aware of if you do decide to return your Scribe (or other kindle) is that there seems to be a backlog at the moment; I ent mine back on Dec 30th and only got notification of a refund yesterday - to be in my bank a/c by the 15th.

When using Wordwise on Kindle Scribe(2022) firmware 5.17.2, the line spacing option does not work and the line spacing is always the same (Only paragraph spacing changes). Is this happening to anyone else?
And wordwise font seems to have become smaller.
