I like to have all book covers the same size, and fill entire screen (without black bars on sides)

Can you change the cover in calibre with KCC 6.2.2 files? cover support was changed in 6.3.0 to stop putting cover images in the system/thumbnails folder on kindle, switching to reading the cover directly from the mobi. Last edited by axu2; 01-29-2025 at 12:51 AM. |

As I understand, change was made mainly for 12th gen devices, which requires PDOC tag, to use cover directly from the file Last edited by C4thie; 01-29-2025 at 11:40 AM. |

If it's not hard and time consuming, then yeah - would be cool.
Or maybe some option to set cover resolution. |

I’ve put kcc 7.2.0 in pre-release. Various developer friendly changes, an inter panel cropping method, file splitting fixes, reduce rainbow effect, reduced primary SSD wear, and more.

Up to you. Run any random program more complex than "Hello, World!' through a mass of antivirus programs and you will get false positives 90% of the time.

Malwares and Malicious don't bother me that much cause it really looks like false positive, but keylogger?

As the kcc developer, I have no idea why random antivirus flag kcc.exe. Especially after a new release and it hasn’t reached the critical mass of downloads yet.
You are also welcome to run the code directly using the earlier guide. The exe is built directly on GitHub servers using the code publicly available. You can also rebuild the exe yourself on GitHub servers if you fork the repo and enable github actions. Scanning will always give some false positives, you can inspect the kcc code yourself to verify there's nothing weird there. Edit: 7.2.1 now out. Adds jpeg2000 support and fixes a pdf bug from 7.2.0 Last edited by axu2; 02-20-2025 at 10:58 PM. |

Hi, I have two queries; I might be too noobish, pardon me.
1. Earlier when i used to use KCC to convert comressed winrar files to cbz the size used to get reducted (eg- winrar size- 100 mb, cbz size- 80 mb) but now when i am using newer kcc the file increases instead (eg- winrar size- 100 mb, cbz size- 115 mb). I have kindle pw 5 with 8 gb storage, would love to get the smaller size mangas. 2. what does cropping power does? |

Are you using the exact same source rar files?
What kcc settings? Which versions of kcc gave you different results. Cropping power changes how aggressively it crops. |

Yes, I download the manga photos from hakuneko, then directly convert them to winrar compressed then drag and drop into kcc.
Kcc settings- manga mode enabled, jpeg/png/moz checked, stretch upscale checked, cropping mode checked. Rest all unchecked. Sadly I don't remember what version was giving me different result. But the more recent ones 7.xx and later 6.xx were giving comparatively larger file sizes. I don't know if the larger sizes give better quality too. |
