How do I get an ebook onto my kindle? The book I want is not available for kindle but it is available at Barnes and Nobel as an ebook. If it requires anything technical then I’d rather just get an app to read on my iPad. Thanks.

Easy non technical solution my friend is to read on the B&N app on your Ipad. Getting your chosen book on B&N to eventually convert to read on Kindle is technical.

You may also want to check if it is available on Kobo as another option. Kobo has an app for iOS/iPadOS which in my limited exposure to the B&N app, works better. As a Canadian, B&N never managed to expand into Canada and instead moved out of Britain so my experience is with some relatives who use B&N apps or ereaders.

Which eBook is this?

If you can get it from Kobo, eBooks.com, or Google Play Books, you can remove the DRM and convert it to be used on your Kindle.

Are you certain that learning to use calibre and it’s family of plugins is going to qualify as a non-technical solution?

Unless the eBook has no DRM, calibre with DeDRM is the only solution.

No, OP can use kobo app if bought from kobo.
Removing DRM is a bit technical if you’ve not used calibre etc before and it would need to be done to get the ebook on a kindle or kindle app.
Not much help if it’s only available at B&N though.

B&N is worst place except for Nook users and the Nook App isn't even available on Android unless you are in B&N distribution zone.

Just learn to remove drm and convert epub into one of the Kindle recognised formats. It is technical, but it's a fairly easy process that will save you a lot of time, not to mention grey hair, in the long run. By removing drm on all of the ebooks, one is no longer tied to one device for his digital library.

Unfortunately, Amazon seems to be working hard to made DRM removal harder so you are going to end up having to dig into the nitty-gritty technical details to be able to continue to remove Amazon's DRM.

I don't see anything that suggests that the OP removes DRM from Kindle books. Instead, they've got a Kindle and buy Kindle books. Done. Which is why, for a one-off, I think they're right; the best and easiest solution is to buy the book form B&N and use the app to read it on their iPad.

My response was to @jackm8's message. Generally, I tend not to quote when the message I am replying to is adjacent to my response.

If while you are typing your reply someone else gets a message in between, do you then edit your message to add in the quote?
