Taking out a chapter file in ePub/Calibre
I just got a project from a client. She wants me to take out her Prologue and just start at Chapter 1. So my question is, can I, in Calibre, just remove that Prologue file with having to re-number all the rest of the files which come after? Delete and renumber the content.opf file?

The answer to your question is pretty editor agnostic. Yes, you can remove the Prologue file (both the html file and any entries pointing to it in the opf file). You'd probably want to remove any links from other html files to the now non-existent prologue file as well.
Some editors may automatically take care of the opf changes for you. I'd ask your question in the calibre editor forum for the specifics of how to do so with that editor. |

Yes, deleting the prologue can be done with Calibre's editor. The opf will be updated. You can do a batch rename if needed. But, you might have to do two batch renames. Also, if you have the dreaded useless internal ToC then you will have to manually edit that if you have the prologue linked. The proper external ToC (ncx) will be handled automatically.
