Does amazon replace bricked Kindles?
Hey,
Some people here are interested in trying to downgrade an unregistered 5.9.2.0.1 KOA2, including me. If anything goes wrong will amazon replace bricked devices if they are still within the warranty period? (maybe a device could brick accidentally during an official update) |

Amazon did replace bricked PW2s and PW3s.
Noone has reported about bricking KOA2. The worst is that the menu item Update Your Kindle stays greyed when putting the initial factory firmware into the root. |

It seems somewhat ethically dubious to me to ask for a replacement if the device is "bricked" as a result of your own actions. A warranty protects against the device failing of its own accord, not user abuse.
