Hello everyone, I wanted to know if anyone has heard of the Eone reader by progress technologies? If so, has anyone else been successful in loading their own content onto the device? As I have one in my possession I am trying to extend the lifespan and usability of the device as progress technologies will no longer be providing support for it. Thank you in advance.

It sounds like it's locked to their Manga content.

They released a SD card version of the device in which you can put in any SD card made by them, technically you can also back up the official SD card onto your own personal SD card and use it that way however by using the personal SD card some of the original images don't appear. I wonder if there's a way to replace the pictures with copies of manga I have purchased elsewhere or if there's a way to circumvent the software on the SD card so that the device can allow me to read whatever I want.

So you have the version with the SD card?
Does overwriting the existing file content work (same name)? Maybe it has a hash of the file. |

I tested this out with some png files that match the exact dimensions of the files on the original SD card and although it doesn't show up as being encrypted on the back up SD card, the png files I loaded end up showing as pure black. I wonder if I can either load some custom firmware onto the device to get to recognize any kind of png or if I can convert my own pngs into a format that is usable by the device. The image files on the original SD card are all 1160 kb and there is another encrypted file in the root directory called .A001 which I believe interfaces with the firmware on the e reader itself. Other than that I'm stumped.
