Status line

I didnt find (yet) a way to remove the status line from my new 505.
Come on, there <must> be a way - screen space is too important!!!

I'm afraid you're wrong in saying that there "must" be a way. There isn't.

I'm not familiar with the old model (500). It had the same problem or not?
I was thinking that since it was more hacking-friendly than the 505 currently is - maybe somebody wrote some app to disable that damned SL.

There is a way to remove the status line. The problem is nobody here knows how to do so.

Heck, if you knew enough about the 500/505 and how to program them, you could have them reading all formats of ebooks

Given enough time and resources. Of course Sony is unlikely to provide the insight and would likely sue you for stealing it.

You can probably do it with some creative editing of the UI xml files, but I don't think anyone is interested enough to do it for you.
