Hello,
I just updated Calibre to 7.24, and I've noticed than all books having an ISBN identifier in the Edit metadata window now display some sort of *phantom* identifier named "Kobo Metadata" appearing in the Book Details panel and duplicating the ISBN (but not appearing in the metadata window, neither in the Ids list navigator). When I click on it, it sends the isbn number to the Kobo (French) site (resulting in an error in Kobo site, although it's from a french book ISBN).

Deleting the Kobo Metadata plugin 1.10.0, and restarting Calibre fixed the problem.

So I guess there must be some kind of incompatibility bug between Kobo Metadata 1.10.0 and Calibre 7.24.

Kobo Metadata uses the ISBN as the identifier when downloading metadata. Since it only shows in the Book Details view, I personally don't find it that annoying. The IDs list navigator if you mean the dropdown menu when you want to enter an ID in the Edit Metadata view was created by @davidfor long before Kobo Metadata was created.

When I click on Kobo Metadata in the Book Details page, it opens a Kobo page for that book in my web browser. Have you configured the Kobo Metadata plugin for country and language? When I set my copy to France and fr, it opens the book page on Kobo France if the ISBN exists there or it opens an error page if it doesn't. Images of sample page opened and Kobo Metadata configuration page attached.

By IDs list navigator, I meant the ID section of the Tag Browser.

I would assume that a normal behavior would be to let the user choose if he wants to display that link or not in the Details panel, like the amazon or google links. That's not possible, because you can't set an ISBN ID in the Edit Metadata without automatically trigging the Kobo ID.

Hi folks, after experiencing days worth of Cloudflare-related errors, I installed docker and am successfully running a Flaresolverr container. However, I don't understand how to integrate it with this plugin in Calibre. The only mention I see of using Flaresolverr with Calibre online includes people stating they do use it, but the how never seems to be mentioned. Are they modifying the Python files in the plugin? I have reached the point where I am a little underwater, so to speak. Thank you for any help people can offer.

This was an idea to implement but I haven't gotten around to it. I'm in the middle of moving right now so I haven't had time to look at it - but if someone wants to do it themselves, feel free to do a PR on the github :P

Update: I am in strata hell right now so I haven't had much opportunity to work on this

But I have been using this off and on myself and it seems okay, though I have noticed that opening Kobo on my web browser (even just the front page), or changing region seems to improve the success rate. Or maybe it is a placebo - hard to tell with these things.
