3rd Party Oasis Cases
Has anyone gotten any 3rd party Oasis cases yet? I'm particularly interested in sleeves because they're typically lighter than traditional cases.
This one looks interesting, says it is laser cut for a perfect fit.. but doesn't specify weight. Only thing I dislike is the cutout at the top, I would like it to cover the entire device: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kindle-Oasis...-/282007352349 This one on Amazon from Ceocase looks nice, but the fact that it also says it fits paperwhite seems like it isn't necessarily designed for the Oasis... http://smile.amazon.com/Amazon-Kindl...dp/B01E095Q6O/ Here's a traditional cover for the Oasis.. $9.99. Curious how much lighter it is than the battery cover: http://smile.amazon.com/Kindle-Oasis...dp/B01E5WMDGW/ I ordered the laser cut one from ebay but it hasn't arrived yet.. can report back. Has anyone else ordered any or have any impressions? |

Given that the Oasis has such a very, very short battery life when not in its Amazon case, I wonder how much of a market there'll be for third-party cases?

The Oasis case (IMHO) was nbot designed well. The problem being is that it does bot fully cover the device.

Lots of cases don't cover the whole device. As long as it protects the screen - that's the fragile part of the device.

Noreve is making a "horizontal wallet flap" for the oasis and it is "available soon."

I've ordered a Fintie cover. I get about six hours reading time without the cover and that's enough for most days when I'm out of the house.
I have a bit of a case addiction. I like to change them frequently. I hope the Fintie case is easy to remove. http://www.amazon.com/Fintie-Kindle-...tie+oasis+case |

The case for the Oasis does not cover some of the device. That means it's not giving as good a protection as it should. So you can drop it and have a greater chance of the Oasis getting hit directly instead of the case.

I don't know what the Noreve case will cost, although the price of their case for the Voyage is $54.48, which doesn't strike me as inordinately expensive. Perhaps the Oasis case will be signficantly more. If I were to purchase an Oasis and wanted an aftermarket case, I would get the Fintie case that disconnected mentions. Its basic design appears similar to the Paperwhite Amazon case, which has worked great for me. |

IMHO The problem with this amazon case is that it doesn't have any port to charge the case separately. This is just a huge letdown for me. I don't want not be able to read in order to charge my case. They should have added another port to that case. How could this huge company oversee this feature. I would happily support any 3rd party cases that has charge port in it.

How about skins?
I've always put a skin on my mobile devices while they are shiny and new. They keep off scratches and minor dings and are thin enough not to interfere with putting it in a case. And they also stop the device from feeling slippery.
Amazon already has a couple of these with full body coverage made from military grade clear plastic. [Kindle Oasis Anti-Glare Screen Protector [Full Coverage], IQ Shield® Matte - Full Body Skin with Lifetime Warranty Replacements - Premium Bubble-Free HD Film with Anti-Fingerprint Coating]. Decal Girl [http://www.decalgirl.com/skins/amazo...e-oasis-skins] sells a range of skin designs for full body coverage, or they will let you do your own design. |

I have a major case addiction and tbh part of the Oasis's non appeal is the battery case and how silly (to me) it seems to be getting a third party case. My experience of third party cases, the clip in ones, is getting the device in and out of the case can be problematic.
I don't see the point in buying a device which is expensive because it has 2/3rds of its battery in a case and then not use the case. |
