Dictionary Look-up
I am looking to replace a Sony PRS 650. Dictionary look-up is very important. With this model you tap on a word twice and a definition will pop up. The quality of the French - English dictionary (Oxford - Hachette) is excellent. Can any current model match this? I asked Kobo this question and got an unhelpful reply. A previous question (3 years ago) elicited the information that Kobo dictionaries are not good. Have things changed? (An epub reader is preferable)

The Kindle has the best dictionaries of any reader on the market. It doesn't come with a French translation dictionary (only a purely French dictionary), but hundreds of dictionaries are available to buy in the Kindle store. There is, for example, a Collins French to English dictionary available at a moderate price which appears to be well-reviewed.
The Kobo has very poor dictionaries; if they are an important feature for you, it's probably best to look elsewhere. Last edited by HarryT; 12-11-2014 at 09:13 AM. |
