how to browse localhost with wifi off?

hi all:
I've installed the httpd server on kindle :
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=126128

then I can browse my own html files, enter http://localhost in the browser,
but it must keep wifi on, even when you enter local address.

any suggestion? thanks a lot.

a quick way is to issue the following dbus command
dbus-send --system /default com.lab126.wifid.cmConnected
see http://info.iet.unipi.it/~luigi/kindle/
I think this needs to be done periodically as there must be
some system daemon that refreshes the state every minute or so.

If browser checks connectivity to amazon.com, how about setting amazon.com to localhost in hosts file?

I added that line as a launchpad command but it still doesn't work...
