i86 Sleep Issues
Hi, I have an i86 with the May 2017 firmware update.
This problem pre-dates that update. I have looked here for an answer to this and have only found some glancing references to the issue, and no fix. The i86 doesn't sleep--at all, on a schedule. It can be manually "sleeped" but this is a marginal consolation. It will power off on a schedule, but it won't sleep. I have tried the "Greenify" app that someone recommended here, and it does nothing. I still have Android 4.0.4 on the device. Any advice would be appreciated as many things about this e-reader are good, but this no-sleep issue is a real nuisance. The only current way to save power is to power off between reading sessions. It is waste to buy Onyx Boox ereaders. Booxtor is telling that kitkat update would be available soon since 2 years. Nothing is released.

It is a good thing that the 4.4 update has not arrived. 4.4 does not allow the use of SD cards.

It really depends on the expectations... I've been enjoying my i86 for reading mangas for a few years now, I'm quite satisfied. Moreover there are really no alternatives with this screen size/software combination.

If you bought it because you hoped to get one day Android 4.4, you lost a bet - it is a waste based on your bets. Stay far from casinos. ; ) |
