Adding Books on Kindle to Calibre?
I haven't run across an explanation of this subject yet. There are books on my kindle 3 which I want to add to calibre. I tried the Add Books from a Directory and the book I selected did get added to calibre. I have noticed it is not recognized as being on the kindle device.

This leads me to believe I'm not doing this the right way. Guidance, please.

I have noticed that if I close calibre, and reopen it, it now sees that the book is on the device.

Make sure you have updated to calibre version 0.7.56 (0.7.55 hada bug that affected On Device)

I am at 7.56. So is the Add Books button the correct way to add books from the kindle to the calibre library?

No, you switch to the device view, right click on the book you want to add and select add to calibre library.
