Motion L series Pen: when and how to change tip
Hi! I was just wondering since it seems the number of eDGe users with Motion pens is growing. Has anybody tried to change tips? The pen I bought came with a small metal ring and several tips. The ring is labeled "tip removal tool". It may be a "duh" question, but how do you use it? I'm usually quite adventurous in taking apart easy-to-replace gadgets but I'm afraid to mess up with the pen. Also, how do you know it's time to replace the tip? Will somebody please take a video of the process. (I've googled and found nothing on this.)
Looking forward to your posts. |

I replaced my tip to see the difference and did not notice any. The metal clip grabs the tip and pulls it out. There is not much you can do to mess it up...other then washing it...don't do tgat one!

I had a tablet PC that used the same kind of pen and my original pen was still good for well over 2 years. i wonder if it's more of an "if you destroy/break/lose" the tip backup than something you have to worry about for regular maintenance.

Thanks, Canezila. So as I understand it, you used the metal ring as a sort of a pincher, fitting the tip into the slot at one end of the ring. Then you just pulled out the tip without loosening any other parts; after which you pushed the new tip in. Am I correct so far?

... but of course, in the event that I do destroy/break/lose my tip, I'm glad I won't have to figure out that ring contraption on my own.

Yes, you have it correct. Use the clip to pinch and pull the tip out. It is surprisingly simple...but the part under your thumb is probably not so simple.
