Calibre 'Download Metadata' suddenly never downloads 'Has Summary'?
I recently updated to 3.36, but I'm not sure that's it. I turned off my firewall. I tried multiple books. I even tried books that Calibre HAS successfully downloaded 'Has Summary' versions in the past.

Any ideas?

What sources do you have configured for comments?
Minor site changes show up as partial results. Having more than one source ups your chances.

BTW If you only have a couple sites enabled, WHICH ONES? Kovid vcan check those for current function.

I have Amazon, Google, and Barnes & Noble. Through roughly 8 years of Calibre use, those have always been fine, and I haven't recently changed them at all.

Have you checked Preferences->Metadata download->Comments and each Source has its Comments option ticked. It is sometimes easy to change a setting inadvertently via a shortcut or gesture.

I've never mucked about in those settings other than to uncheck excess sources, so your comment gave me the idea of restoring defaults....and it worked.

So you were right, I think. Somehow, I messed something up inadvertently without knowing it. Thanks for the tip.

So far as I can tell, this issue is resolved. Thanks guys (both of you.)
