Smile InkPad 3 - new firmware update 5.17.1736 (May 21, 2018)

Haven't seen it posted here yet. Pocketbook released a new update for the InkPad 3 that fixes a number of issues and adds new gestures for adjusting the frontlight. It's a 220 MB download.

PocketBook InkPad 3
Firmware: 5.17.1736 (May 21, 2018)

Reader improvements:
  • Ability to adjust the Frontlight brightness and SMARTLight color using gestures directly from the Reading program. Swiping up or down on the right side of the screen will increase or decrease the Frontlight brightness. Swiping up or down on the left side of screen will increase or decrease the SMARTlight colour temperature.
  • More smooth page scaling with pinch-to-zoom gesture in PDF and DjVu books.
  • More precise positioning when selecting words in the text while working with notes or for translation purposes.

Other improvements:
  • Ability to switch on and switch off G-sensor from Settings menu.
  • Some wording enhancements.

Fixes:
  • Occasional incorrect LED indication of the battery charging status (LED indicator could switch off before battery was fully charged.)
  • Possible incorrect display of certain book covers.
  • Possible issues during the Dropbox authoriziation process with the help of
  • reCAPTCHA protection.
  • Incorrect speed of playback of some mp3 files.
  • Other minor fixes.

Appearantly this firmware stops borrowing library books from the e-reader (at least for one person in Sweden with an HD 2). Anyone else have problem with adobe and getting acsm-files to the e-reader? (It's not me that have the e-reader.)

I have no experience with library books. My purchased books are side-loaded via Calibre.

What I can report is that this firmware update also fixed the issue with the clock on the InkPad 3 (it would quickly go out of sync and lag behind). Power consumption also seems to be much lower now for me in sleep mode and appears equal or better than on my Kobo Glo, though that wasn't an issue anyone else had.

They added small preview during zooming or paning, when it is visible it is slower then my old InkPad 1 (without this unnecessary preview of course). PocketBook: make it feature, not a pain!

Would be great if it can be turned on for pdfs, and off for epubs - make no sense for me to change orientation for epubs (at least without possibility to zoom images).

LED indication of battery charging should always light during charging when device is off. Regardless of option 'LED indicator' in options. Now it is not possible to know if device has finished charging, without turning it on.
