Tagging and deleting for Google Reader Recipe
Hi all
I've tried to use the Google Reader Recipe to get some feeds but I don't know what name I must use to properly Tag the desired feeds. In addition, must I enter Google Reader after downloading and mark those feeds as "read" to avoid forever downloading? Thanks in advance |

Every subscribed feed starts out not in a folder. Adding the subscription to a folder tags the feed with the folder name. You can add all your subscriptions into one folder called "news" or be more creative. I just placed each subscription in a folder the same name as the subscription. Yes you must mark them as read or you will download them again next time. |

so, you mean, when I use Google Reader recipe it downloads every feed I tagged (no matter the name) in Google Reader?
then, what difference does it make with "google Reader UBER" recipe? I don't understand. I think I must mark some feeds some way to be identified as "downloadable" by the recibe, otherwise Calibre will download all. That's the way it's working now, and I got more than 500 Feeds and Calibre got blocked at 67%.... |

Now I understand. But all my feeds are in a folder. And for more than 500 feeds It's overwhelming to that recipes.
thanks |

You could mark all as read then set the recipe to run every day. Or you could let the Google Reader recipe run for as long as it takes. Open the Jobs icon and view the details this way you can see if it is progressing. Set it running before you go to sleep. I think the first time will be the worst because (i'm guessing here) you probably have more then one days worth of unread items, right? Good Luck & |

yeah, i've tried that, and the recipe gets blocked at 67% no matter how long I wait.
Never ends. |

Try it one more time. Open the Job icon (at the beginning of the process) and view the details. It might be to the point where it is creating the prc file. It would be interesting to know what it is doing during that time (67% point) and if it is displaying any progress all.

at 67% point is generatin the mobi file. But it's a never ending task. Since yesterday it's working. I'll try cleaning and marking many of my feeds as read. Maybe some of them are malformed RSS feeds or something like that.
thanks for your help |

I emailed you what you wanted in epub format. The mobi format didn't look too well. It didn't have a table of contents. You can convert the epub I sent you to mobi. As soon as you save the attachment I sent you (from Walt A.) go to reader and mark all as read. |

An epub to mobi conversion of downloaded content wont be as nice as a direct to mobi download. But that error indicates a network error connecting to google and has nothing to do with the output format

Thanks kovid. Connection problem solved via selecting epub format. But......why is not generated a table of contents when converting from epub to mobi?
