Touch screen support

As in thread name, is there any options/plugins that makes using calibre on touch screens usable? And if not, are there any plans of implementing such?
Because now it's a horror.

Try using TouchMousePointer (http://www.lovesummertrue.com/touchmousepointer/en-us/).

Quote:
TouchMousePointer is a Windows 8.1, Windows 10 (or later) program for use on Windows tablets or convertibles with touch screens.

Windows 8.1, Windows 10 touch screens, especially on tablets, do not work well with many standard windows programs and websites; especially those that use roll-over effects like menu buttons and tool tips. Resizing Windows and scrolling is frustratingly difficult on Windows tablet touch screens and small icons and buttons often require the use of a stylus and even then they don't always work as they should.

TouchMousePointer solves all these problems by making your touch screen into a track-pad that controls a standard cursor. At last your Windows tablet has a cursor and you can position it exactly where you need to have it - without your finger blocking the target - and mouse roll over effects work perfectly on menus and buttons of all Windows programs and websites.

As of version 3.5 some touchscreen support is built in.

Quote:
Release: 3.5 [28 Jul, 2017]

New features
  • Server: Add a new 'custom' mode for the book list, where you can specify exactly what metadata fields are displayed, via a template (see Preferences->Sharing over the net->Book list template)
  • Speed up HTML parsing by an order of magnitude, by switching from html5lib to html5-parser
  • Add support for touch screens to the main calibre book list. You can now flick to scroll, tap to select and double-tap to view books.
  • Server: Add an option to ban IP addresses if there are too many failed login attempts
  • calibre-debug: Change the --explode-book action to only create the exploded directory and not rebuild the file. Add a new --implode-book action to rebuild the file, separately.
  • Book details panel: Add Manage authors/series/tags/etc. to the menu when right clicking on the item
  • Kobo driver: Update for new firmware

Yes support is there for tapping and scrolling but scrolling is very haphazard and touching some of the smaller menus etc is quite hard.

I've expanded my book rows to be touch height friendly but i do find scrolling hard still and i have to be very precise in touching menus. Its not a deal breaker but a front end touch mode would be a lovely addition to an already great program.
