This is a good marketing plan, IMO. Get people invested in the series at a reasonable price, and they'll be far more likely to buy the next book when it comes out in Feb 2019. I wish more publisher did this.

Asimov's Foundation is $2.99 at Amazon. Regarded as one of the greatest science fiction novels of all time (though personally, I far prefer his robot stories to his Foundation stuff).

While $7 for a ebook isn't a bargain per se it seems to get you 2 versions of the story that inspired "The Thing", an anthology of stories by leading sci-fi authors inspired by "The Thing", and 10 bundles of classic sci-fi stories. I've bought things from this publisher and they seem fairly reputable.
