You've been here more than long enough to know that questions like this belong in the dev forum, to where I'm now moving it.

I am not positive but I know on some of the older kindles, the 3g was only good for a year.

No, that has never been true for any Kindle.

Expect the 3G to work once you un-demo and register it. |

Not quite that simple on an original KT.
**PLUS** You don't know its history. So start over, use Kubrick - it does not take very long and puts you in a known good state (if you pick the option to also wipe /var/local), with a known good (early) version of the firmware. |

Hmm....
What country are you in? AT&T wasn't the original non-usa 3g provider, the original one is long gone. but if your in the usa, or outside of the usa and the KT is setup for AT&T **OR** you can re-write the SIM card . . . Then my statement is correct, 3g will work after you run kubrick on it. (Kubrick is a pretty smart wizard, but it doesn't know how to re-write your sim card.) - - - - Hey, we have already spent more time typing this conversation than it would have taken you to use kubrick on it. |

Alas I cannot use Kubrick on that keyboard. It has since decided it was a puritan and drowned itself while I was reading a book. No, taking it apart and letting it dry for 3 days did not revive it. I will remember your advice if I get a new 3g keyboard. Yes I had a backup kindle. |

No not the K3 - -
The Kindle Touch that is your original question. Kubrick that one, then the 3g should work just fine. - - - - PS: Please update your info block to list the devices you have using our prefixs. That way we have an idea of what your posting about. "Kindle Basic" is a name that refers to the bottom of the line, regardless of the model. We write and package stuff by the model, not the price-line. |
