What was the first e-book you read and on what device?
For me it was "Riding the Bullet" on a Palm III.

It would have been on Sony 505. Not sure what it was, but almost certainly a freebie Creative Commons book.

Funny enough, it was Harry Potter, don't remember which one, on a Windows PC. I was stuck on a field assignment and couldn't get the hardback I pre-ordered.

Wow. No clue. I certainly read documents of various kinds, including fan-fic and other net stories, on a green phosphor monitor before any mobile device was available to me. I know my wife used to read Peanut Press books on her Palm device (one of my first visits here was to learn about converting those books for use on her Kindle), but I don't recall reading anything longer than a readme file or a web article (remember AvantGo?) on my Palm III or my Handspring Visor.
I guess the first time I read a book on an hand held device would be on a Kindle, but for the life of me I could not tell you what book that was, and it would have been only since my Join Date here. <-- I must have a pretty bad memory. |

It was the first Honor Harrington nove, On Basilisk Station. I read it on a first generation Ipod Touch using Stanza.
After reading it, I quickly upgraded to the Ectaco Jetbook. -- Bill |

"The Blue Castle" by L.M. Montgomery on my very first device, Kobo Wifi.
However Calibre was my first application on which I read e-books, so "Jane Eyre" on Calibre before that. |
