Schopenhauer, Arthur: Die Welt als Wille und Vorstellung II;german v1; 26th may 09

Arthur Schopenhauer (1788-1860) ist einer der bekanntesten deutschen Philosophen und war einer der Ersten, die die Theorie vertraten, dass der Welt ein irrationales Prinzip zu Grunde liege. Er wurde in eine Patrizierfamilie in Danzig geboren und sollte (gegen seinen Willen) Kaufmann werden. Erst nach dem Tod seines Vaters, wandte er sich den Dingen zu, die ihn interessierten. Er studierte Naturwissenschaften und danach Philosophie. Im Zuge der Entstehung der Farbenlehre, hatte Schopenhauer auch Kontakt mit dem bekanntesten deutschen Schriftsteller, J.W. Von Goethe.
Sein Hauptwerk bildete „Die Welt als Wille“, das 1818 herauskam. Wie der Titel verrät, liegt das Hautpaugenmerk auf dem Willen des Menschen, weder Geist noch Materie seien die Grundlagen der Welt. Damit widerspricht er sowohl Feuerbachs Theorie vom „Weltgeist“ als auch dem Marx'schen Materialismus. Der Wille ist für Schopenhauer die Metaphysik für alles. Seine Philosophie beruht sowohl auf pessimistischen als auch auf empirischen Methoden. Einer der bekanntesten pessimistischen Grundzüge ist seine Theorie, das die Erfüllung des Willens in seiner Auslöschung liege. Der zweite Band seiner "Welt als Wille und Vorstellung" stellt keine neuen Theorien mehr auf, sondern dient der Vertiefung des vorherigen Band. Die vier Bücher werden im zweiten Band Stück für Stück nochmal angesprochen, erläutert und vertieft.
