(Open)LDAP or ActiveDirectory authentication

I was wondering if there is any way to get Calibre users authenticated through LDAP or AD? I am running a Samba4/AD server and would like to add Calibre Server as a service so Samba4/AD users can authenticate to use the Calibre libraries.

Use a reverse proxy, then you can use whatever authentication scheme you like in the proxy server. The calibre server uses http auth set it to use basic http uath instead of digest and pass the Authorization header from the proxy server to the calibre server.

Thank you for the response. I am also member of the NethServer community and we are currently busy integrating Calibre content server in NethServer.
Since nethServer uses either OpenLDAP or Samba4 AD account providers, I thought I'd ask here if there were any options. We will look into the option of using a reverse proxy.

See https://manual.calibre-ebook.com/server.html for instructions on how to do reverse proxying with comomn servers. Note that if you want to do auth outside the calibre server, apart from passing the authorization heder, you will also need to mirrors the user accounts in calibre via calibre-server --manage-users

Any chance calibre will get a auth to a ldap server, like calibre web? Would be very nice, to not need a second auth db for calibre server.
