The other "reader" that Peter was referring to is a separate and Kobo proprietary software rendering engine that is used by Kobo e-readers to render "kepubs" (epubs that have been modified by Kobo to their proprietary format).
Thanks for expanding on my terse reply

Just a note to say that if you are a Linux user it is a bit more difficult to set this up as Kobo has almost no support for Linux. Calibre works for loading and unloading and it is possible to get Kobo's desktop running - just not simple.

There are two ways to search for text in an ebook on the Glo.
[SPOILER]When selecting text as described in the Note-Taking section above, one of the options is a magnifying glass. Tapping this brings up all instances of that word in the book, displayed from the very beginning of the book. This could be annoying if you are halfway through a book and want to find the next instance of some text, as you will have to pass over the other, earlier instances of that text before getting to the later selections.
I find this very useful. The main reason I would do a search is to find where a particular character (person) first appeared in the book and his/her relevance to the story. A search gives me these early entries.

I have purchased a Glo and it should arrive soon, and hope that if I search for a person with this hold-press method, that there will be a 'return' button. Guess I'll find out soon.

Great review 9littlebees. Hope you can finish it.

There is. When you do a search in a book, either like this or by entering the term, a list of matches is shown. Each match is about two lines of text to give context. Selecting one of these shows the page with the match underlined. The search bar is displayed at the bottom of the screen with a link back to the results, a next and previous result arrow, "x of y" to show where you are in the results, and a return arrow to go back to where you started the search.

Minor nit, Kobo is using the ACCESS NetFront Bookreader Epub edition as the renderer for .kepub.epub ebooks. It's not proprietary to Kobo. If you have the money, you can license the code. ACCESS supplied a modified version of that renderer to the Readium project for release as Readium-Chromium. You can install this for Google Chrome from the Chrome store.
