DRM related....

Is the DRM Waterstones put on, for example, a totally different animal from the Amazon one, or is some specious "anti-piracy" tactic, for want of a better term.

And does anyone think it a good idea to get rid of it on their offerings - if such a thing were possible ?

Of course it's not, we all know that.

Adobe's DRM mechanism isn't the same as Amazon's, but it's there for the same purpose. You're mistaken in saying that it can't be removed - Google for "Apprentice Alf" to find out more.

He's being ironic as in "oh no, it's not a good idea to get rid of our digital shackles also known as DRM. Let us accept this oppression of the establishment with mirth and remember, we must not think, the government and corporations do it for us."

No good reason, just seems a more radical list with 'em in.

Not that I could ever support anything radical, naturally.
