Is it the old Japanese guy, Hoketsu? He's been in the news quite a bit.

Hurling? I thought that was done with cookies... as in
'Hurling the Biscuits.' OK, a question; How many different 'monies' are being used around the world? Don't include military script, Disney Dollars, Yap Stone money, or Monopoly Money. Only stuff that can be used in local stores and converted to other types. Stitchawl Last edited by Stitchawl; 01-19-2013 at 06:58 PM. |

Including BitCoins, I'd say a little less, the Euro is used in several countries and I believe the green back is official currency in some countries outside the US. I would guess 175.

Given that there are fewer than 200 countries (I don't believe anyone has settled on an agreed number), and that as Kumabjorn says, several countries use the same currency, I'd guess at 160.

Hey! What happened to my post?!? Before I went to bed last night, I posted the winner. I guess I must have hit the wrong button!
OK, the numbers I have vary between 179 and 182 different currencies. Kumabjorn said 175 which is closest, so let's declare her the winner and ask her to post the next question! Stitchawl |

Ahhh, appreciate the declaration of being a winner, it's been awhile. Ok, will go easy, what is the oldest extant printed material, and what was it used for?
