Can Chrome OS make Android a winner on a Tablet?

See Acer Chromebook Tab 10 for a new Tablet that runs Chrome OS, Android apps and takes on the iPad 2018 for education.

It sounds really good. However, as of 6/2 it is not available for purchase. I would certainly give it a try (despite it's heavy weight) if I could find one for purchase.

Google has released an update for its Chrome OS that enables select Chromebooks to run apps designed for Google Android and access Google Play Store. Right now, several mobile PCs from Acer and ASUS, are compatible with the new build, besides the Acer Chromebook Tab 10 mentioned above.

This release confirms Google’s intentions to enable Android software on its OS for PCs. As this gets rolled out the Acer R11 2-in-1 tablet can run Android and this one is available today.

I would be interest in anyone's opinion of this. How well does it work?

Android apps and games work well on my asus c302ca and c101pa.

Do note that the acer tab mentioned also supports crostini which is a native handling method for linux containers, so it can run linux apps too. That's still beta for now.

Even if the chromebook doesn't support crostini, there's crouton which lets you set up linux chroots.
